Ryan Matter

Co-Founder, Operations manager, & Master Technician

Suspension specialist

Ryan Matter grew up wrenching in the garage, racing on the track, and everywhere you can find a motorcycle in between.

As the son of Pro Race Mechanic and a seasoned racer himself, Ryan developed a deep love and respect for racing and motorcycles at an early age—turning wrenches and riding long before most kids had their first bike.

He spent 15 years racing competitively, gaining valuable experience in performance, bike control, and mechanical setup. Now, as a lead technician and Operations Manager at Suspension Matters, Ryan brings fresh energy, sharp skill, and a true rider’s mindset to the shop.

With years of hands-on experience and a shared passion for performance, he’s proud to carry on the family legacy while pushing the next generation of bike service forward.

James Matter

JJ Matter, with over 40 years in the motorcycle world, is the heart and hands behind Suspension Matters.

From Pro Race Mechanic to racers such as Nicky Hayden, to professional trackside support, JJ’s experience runs deep—working with top teams and building bikes to compete at the highest level.

Known for his precision, discipline, and commitment to quality, he’s the go-to guy riders trust when performance really matters.

JJ’s no-frills, all-focus approach has earned him a reputation throughout Southern California as one of the best in the game. Whether it’s an Engine Rebuild or a SAG Set Up, JJ brings legacy-level expertise to every job.

Helina Herrera-matter

Helina leads the business strategy behind Suspension Matters, overseeing marketing, finance, operations, technology, and customer experience.

With a background in business administration and entrepreneurship, she focuses on building scalable systems that improve efficiency while maintaining exceptional service.

Her goal is to combine technical excellence with a modern, customer-focused experience that makes Suspension Matters the trusted destination for motorcycle suspension, maintenance, and performance in Southern California.
