KYT KX-1 Race Helmet Overview

The KYT KX-1 Race Helmet is designed and developed in Italy using advanced digital tools. It delivers true race-level performance for riders who demand precision, protection, and speed. Ducati Corse factory rider Enea Bastianini tested this helmet at the highest level of competition.

Because of this development process, the KX-1 Race offers excellent aerodynamics and stability. It is also trusted by professional racers worldwide. In fact, riders use the KX-1 Race helmet in MotoGP™.

Aerodynamics and Vision

KYT spent more than three years testing the KX-1 Race helmet in wind tunnels and on the track. As a result, the helmet reduces drag and improves stability at high speeds. It performs well in multiple riding positions and lean angles.

Additionally, the helmet provides a wide field of vision. Riders benefit from 92 degrees of vertical and 210 degrees of horizontal visibility. Therefore, sightlines remain clear and unobstructed while riding aggressively. The helmet also meets the highest FIM safety standards.

Shell Construction

The shell uses advanced TRICOMPOSITE fiber construction. This material keeps the helmet lightweight while increasing strength. It combines carbon fibers, fiberglass, and aramidic resins.

Because of this blend, the shell resists impacts while maintaining low overall weight. KYT produces the KX-1 Race in three shell sizes (S, M, and XL). This improves fit, balance, and comfort across all helmet sizes.

EPS Impact Protection

Inside the helmet, a multi-density EPS liner absorbs impact energy. The liner comes in three sizes (S, M, XL) to improve fit and safety.

While the outer shell absorbs most of the initial impact, the EPS liner manages remaining energy. Different foam densities help control forces across the helmet. As a result, protection improves in all impact zones.

Visor and Optical Performance

The visor uses injected polycarbonate with an anti-scratch coating. It also features variable thickness for improved clarity. Riders can remove the visor quickly and easily.

In addition, a metal alloy release lever ensures a secure closure. The Racing Lock System reduces the chance of visor detachment during a crash. The visor also supports racing tear-offs.

Pinlock Compatibility

The KYT KX-1 Race helmet supports Pinlock® Max Vision 120. This system delivers strong anti-fog performance. Therefore, riders maintain clear vision in cold or humid conditions.

Ventilation System

Ventilation plays a key role during intense riding. The KX-1 Race helmet features seven air intake ducts. These ducts work with internal channels to move air efficiently.

At the rear, two submerged exhaust ports remove hot air. Meanwhile, the aerodynamic rear spoiler creates a Venturi effect. As a result, heat exits the helmet quickly during high-speed riding.

Interior Comfort and Safety

The interior liner and cheek pads are removable, washable, and replaceable. KYT uses premium technical fabrics for comfort and durability. These materials wick moisture and stay soft and breathable.

Additionally, the cheek pads include an emergency quick-release system. This improves safety in emergency situations. The helmet is also prepared for a camel-bag hydration system, which is not included.

Retention System

The chin strap uses a double D-ring retention system. This system provides a secure fit and quick release. It also meets race and track-day requirements.
